a pair of doves comes visiting each day
mingling with a pair of cardinals and a bluebird
enjoying the grass that hasn't been trimmed.
today they spread their wings to sunbathe
while i watch from my window as i escape
the danger of skin cancer and leave
these pairs in the company of their mates.
