"Poor People Are More Generous..."

I think this is so true in my Mom’s case. Born in a family that relied on the bounty of the land to feed so many mouths, she didn’t have the material possessions that she probably desired as a child. In the big city where she learned trade and started a family with a highly-educated man (who also supported her business ventures), she was able to acquire and enjoy more than what she needed in life. Having known how it is to be in need, she wouldn’t say no to the homeless who came to her store or knocked on her door. She provided them with clothing, rice and canned goods. For relatives who needed cash for transportation, medicines or funeral expenses, she always had something to share, no matter how small. These acts of kindness will make my Mom unforgettable. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have witnessed such. 30 January 2017

“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:24
