Summer of 2012

When your fridge breaks down
And your ice cream melts
You gulp down a bit and toss the rest.
When your fresh tilapia is ready for frying
And you find out you’re out of LPG
You give your fish to your neighbour
And have bananas for dinner instead.
When you’re about to share your disaster
And find out your prepaid load is over
It’s time to take a break from networking.
When typhoon Gener is howling
And on your rooftop endlessly pounding
And all power lines mercilessly tearing
You light a candle and snuggle with a romantic novel
Booker Prize winner “Possession” by A. S. Byatt
For that’s the way you’d wanted your vacation.
How could you have forgotten?
Jamison

  1. Possession is one of my favorite novels. Have you seen the movie?
