'tis the season's first snowfall
the field will be free of running feet and rolling balls
tomorrow and many months more.
'tis the night of culmination
as McCain and Obama pause in unison
and the world awaits in front of the television.
'tis the first night all will be coated in white
and a black man could be in the house that's white,
trying to change the world for a while.
oh, well. what's in color anyway?
but what if snow and the house were black
and the whites had been enslaved way back?
there'd always be something in every color
til we're all color blind forevermore.
