Having come from a tiny archipelago with tiny mosquitoes and dragonflies, tomatoes and eggplants..., I'm amazed at half-inch mosquitoes and three-inch dragonflies in North America. So are my kindergartners. I also give them the time of their life when I let them get scratched by the legs of a dragonfly. "It tickles," they say and beg not to release the poor insect.
