bugs that make love all day
atop sweet wildflowers swaying
with each passing vehicle.

butterflies that jump from flower to flower,
dance with each other before mating,
or play touch and go in your garden.

dragonflies that blend where they lay,
playing dead or maybe dreaming
none could see they're ever there.

after a stressful day,

northern cardinals in your yard,
with crimson red coats that bring
life to your otherwise dull grass.
