“Time waits for nobody,” sings Freddie Mercury
Then leaves us with Bohemian Rhapsody
Because Time is impatient.
It doesn’t wait for healing.
It doesn’t wait for a miracle.
You can’t blame Time.
It’s agnostic!
Time is selfish.
It doesn’t give you more for pondering.
It doesn’t give you more for mending.
It tells you, “It’s too late.”
(But you can dare Time and say,
“It’s never too late.”)
Time is cruel.
It hits you and runs
If you’re dilly-dallying.
It steals your dignity
If you don’t use it well.
It leaves you in the lurch
In the middle of the night,
Without a warning, without a sound.
Why worship Time?
