Creative Play?

My little friends were hanging out with me, and they found my left-over letter stickers from a previous scrapbook project. They started sticking them on the headboard, first to spell my name and then to make person figures -- basketball players, in particular -- and then the impromptu dialogue came:

“He’s trying to pass it.”

“Oh, no! Somebody blocked it!”

With paper cups, sticky labels, tape, etc., one made an “anacobra”.

Parents, save some recyclable materials and let your children explore, experiment, imagine, create and learn the fun way. Drawings on the wall? Let the children scrub them off, or tape some large sheets like the back of old calendars for them to doodle. Messy table and floor after painting or salt dough making? Let the children clean up, and they’ll grow into responsible adults.

Anything else? Have fun with your children while they’re with you, unless you’re rushing to have an empty nest. Well, that’ll be for another post. MLJ/23/08/2020/IntheyearofCOVID19.
