This reminds me of my grandparents' kitchen. Theirs was just wider so the earthen jar with a spigot was up on the right side. It kept spring water cool and refreshing. No need for a fridge! (In the first place, there was no electricity in their remote barrio at that time.) To the right of this counter was where my grandparents cooked with firewood, much like a fireplace where I, under five years old, kept myself warm on stormy nights. Cheers to childhood memories!
