As our four-inch, lovely Odonata friend lays eggs

On the side of the pond where lots of her kind

Hover fast and furious, some splitting mates,

Some escaping violent ones, fiercely fighting back,

Zigzagging, spiraling or diving fast,

(And I prepare to switch my camera to video)

 

Another tries to get on top of her

So there was this mad struggle

To which I obviously cheered for the female

Such aggression! Such harassment!

Can’t he find another to mate?
