THE BRIGHT SIDE OF COVID-19

We've got time to sort and organize photos, printed or digital.

Challenge accepted from Jo Atienza for fun and nostalgia. 😊

90’s Photo Challenge Day 7 of 10: So fortunate to get to Hungary and see the Danube, visit churches, taste local wines, meet lovely people... Decades before online Airbnb, I relied on my friend Diane's travel guide and picked a backpackers hostel in Budapest where I got a private room for my first night. Another first-time experience, of course, so little did I know about the jukebox and the young (and restless) drinking and playing billiards loud until the wee hours. How about the beauty rest I needed for my tours? (Of course, I was dozing on and off on the tour bus and perhaps annoyed the guide who spoke three languages!) Luckily, I came across a B&B ad at the travel agency the following day. For days, I carried several keys to this huge apartment building with a large courtyard, and stayed with a charming, retired couple who didn’t speak English (and I didn’t speak Hungarian either), so we communicated with gestures as we enjoyed hearty Hungarian breakfasts and laughed together. The very sweet wife gave me a hug and a kiss on my last day, and I promised to recommend their comfy place to friends (who wouldn’t mind two keys for the building gates and two more keys for the apartment unit)… Do visit in the future. (Thanks to the internet for these photos; mine are in a far and inaccessible place.)

Post a photo of yourself back in the 90’s for 10 days and challenge everyone (or someone) to do the same every day to reminisce the good old days. Have fun!
