Pathetic, decrepit, dilapidated
bleeding with cancerous rust
venomous to the saintly marines.
Marooned at Ayungin Shoal like a ghost
haunting the Chinese navy ships
that roam the disputed Spratly Islands
of the South China Sea.
Haunting though it may,
the Chinese are unperturbed
for 1.3 billion people fear not 105 million,
for 9.6 million km2 can easily bury 300,000 km2!
Though a laughingstock of China,
the Sierra Madre remains grounded
waving the blue, red and white flag
that guards our rust-free lives
and wakes us to our Starbucks coffee mornings.
