A majestic peacock in a royal blue coat and crown,
and iridescent blue eyes on his green plumes,
greets lady visitors in the zoo
and begins the ritual dance of courtship,
spreading his tail, turning several times in all magnificence
as if basking in his God-given glory and splendor
while the ladies snap, snap, snap their cameras.
Then he slowy folds up his tail and shyly walks away,
as if finally realizing he is dancing in vain
for the ladies aren't peahens.
